AOC can increase market shares further Once again, AOC has managed to increase its share notably in the first quarter of 2010. According to figures recently published by Meko Ltd, an independent consulting and market research company and specialists in the display market, the manufacturer has raised its market share by 1.2% to 3.9%. With regard to quantities, AOC has been able to more than double the number of units sold. This means that the display specialist has grown vastly stronger than the slowly-recovering total market in Europe. Regional development In Eastern Europe, the market share increased by 6.0 percentage points to a remarkable 7.1%. For the first time, this has placed AOC amongst the top 5 in this region. Especially the result in Russia is strategically important, as AOC has managed to jump from 20th to 11th position (2.1% market share). And in other single markets in the region AOC has distinguished itself with its growing market share, too. In Poland, the market share increased by 3.5 percentage points to 4.3% and in Hungary AOC was able to improve its results by 7.8 percentage points to 8.3%. Looking at the number of units sold in all of Eastern Europe, AOC is amongst the top 3 in five countries. The development in Turkey has been particularly positive. With more than 35.5 percentage points of the market share, growth was well above average. During the first quarter, AOC was for the first time able to record 37.4% of the Turkish market share and thus has established itself as market leader in the display market far ahead of the competition. In Western Europe, AOC equally increased its market share further – from 1.5% to 2.6%. In the first quarter of 2010, AOC was able to sell almost 36,000 units more compared to the previous year. More improvements were registered in France with a clear increase in sales and in the UK, where AOC improved by 8 positions (from 15 to 7). "After enjoying a good end-of-year business in 2009, we are especially pleased to have continued to grow at a much quicker rate than the European market during the first quarter", comments Stefan Sommer, Senior Product Marketing Manager IT. "With our new display product portfolio, we have an exceptional base from which to further increase our market share in Western as well as Eastern Europe." | ||
