What is a retainer? |
|
A retainer agreement is a work for hire contract for sales agents. Its main feature is that the supplier pays in advance for work to be specified later. In Europe it is common for a company seeking the services of an sales agent to pay a retainer (retainer fee) to the agent, to see a case through. In addition to the retainer fee, a sales agent agreement between client and sales agent may provide for a contingent fee (commonly known as "no-win-no-fee-agreement" or "commission-only-agreement").
