Help & FAQs
Why do we have to pay a retainer before you even start to work for us? |
You will certainly understand the reason if we explain the process of assigning a sales agent to you company: When a new client wants to be represented by an EuroPrompt sales agent ...
- First, our internal due diligence department checks your company (checking that your company exists and is in good standing) and is performing a look-up at D&B or a similar risk management provider (when done your company will be automatically given the status "Verified Company" and you don't have to pay the verification fee);
- Next, a senior member of our sales agents department will review your corporate profile and your product portfolio to understand what kind of products or services you have to offer;
- Most often the client is asked to provide additional documents such as marketing brochures, product specifications and white papers and we often need to ask you for product samples;
- We will call you to discuss your marketing requirements. This is often a lengthy process because if we don't have a clear picture of what you have to offer and to whom you wish to sell (into which market - there are 27 European markets) it makes no sense to proceed.
- Once we've gathered all necessary information, a report is being written and submitted to all 5 vice directors of our sales agents department. The vice directors meet twice a week to discuss new clients' proposals and to determine which one of our 167 sales agents is most experienced in your field of industry;
- Another important consideration when choosing the right agent is - of course - that your sales agent does NOT work for a competitor of yours. The EuroPrompt board will always make sure that this doesn't happen!
- Once the right sales agent is chosen he needs to study the report too - and he may call you again to get answers to further questions that may arise. He will then setup the marketing and sales plan which includes the next steps that are required for successfully selling your products.
- The marketing and sales plan will be send to you together with a draft of the sales agents agreement. The draft will also propose to you the percentage of the commission - usually in the range of 6 to 15 percent (negotiable);
- If you approve the marketing plan and the sales agents agreement (sometimes the contract needs to be approved by your legal department too), and if the the papers are signed, you will be officially represented by your new sales agent.
The entire process may take up to 10 business days, and many EuroPrompt senior and junior staff members are involved in the process, which we simply cannot offer for free. The retainer does not even cover our expenses at this point but is at least a sign from your company that you are seriously interested in our services. But to show you how serious we are interested in working with you on a trustful and long-lasting partnership, we will fully credit the retainer fee to your account once the sales agents agreement has been signed. This means that the retainer fee will be subtracted from the first commission payment due.
If you have more questions, please contact Mr. Markus Schneider - Supervisor Sales Agents Department.
